1. What is your one FLAWLESS talent?
Making a total idiot of myself. I’m REALLY good at that.

2. A new food/ tasty thing you have recently discovered:
Chalk dust. It’s like powdered sugar, really! JK, Thai food is pretty freaking awesome, actually. That’s kinda new.

3. Name a few guilty pleasures you have:
Do I have to be specific? Um, I guess… reading girly manga, like Shugo Chara, imagining in my mind that I can perform ridiculous acrobatic maneuvers… yeah, that’s all.

4.Something that has been bothering you lately:
Homework. I really need to do it, but I always decide to do something else instead, thus resulting in my NOT doing said homework. I really need to stop doing that.

5. Something that made you happy recently:
Getting 5 kills in cruel brawl with Ike on Smash Bros. I even saved a video of the event. I took out FOUR of them with one hit. It was AWESOME.

6. What are you listening to now, in terms of music? (if there is no music what did you listen to last?)
My top rated list of music playlist. It’s playing Savin’ Me by Nickelback right now.

7. On the subject of music, what kind of music seems to have peaked your interest lately:
Game soundtracks and Hoobastank. Guilty Gear soundtracks in particular. But FFVIII fits the bill rather nicely, too.

8. How often do use Japanese phrases?
Only in Japanese class. I’m working on practicing them outside of class. And yes, that means I am officially learning Japanese. As opposed to those 13-year-olds that can’t stop using DESU and KAWAII. Ugh, I got the shivers just typing that. And no, I don’t have a grudge against 13-year-olds. Just the annoying ones.

9. What do you plan on doing with your life:
I’m studying to be an engineer. I’m still deciding between Electrical and Computer engineering, and either way, I’d like to be able to write on the side. I’d also like to get a job with Nintendo in the future, designing products for them. Most of that is pretty much impossible, but that won’t stop me from shooting for it.

10. A burning passion you have:
Games. Stories. The combination of both. I’m not the type to burn with passion, really. But when it comes to video games or stories, whatever the form these come in, I’ll start getting really excited.

11. Cutest couple you know here on DA!
I don’t really know much about couples on DA, so I can’t really say anything about that. But I do think it’s cute whenever couples make split avatars. You know, when it makes one picture when they’re put together.

12. Did you ever own a Neopets account, and if so what was your user name?
Nope.

13. What do you think of when you look at a sunset?
How do I color that?

14. What is one thing you have really been itching to do lately?
FINISH MY NEXT CHAPTER!!!!!! ALSKDJF;LASKDJF!!1111!!!

15. What element would you consider yourself?
Either wind or water, if you’re referring to the basic four elements. Mainly wind, though. If you’re speaking in nerd, I’d have to say carbon. (Sorry, bad geek joke. )

16. Something that has made you very sad/ nervous:.
Tests. Particularly those in Differential Equations. Bonus points if you know what those are.

17. What is one thing you ALWAYS keep track of?
My laptop. I’ve lost almost everything else at some point or another. This includes my car. That’s an embarrassing story for another time.

1337. Hellz yeah. LOL I’m a nerd.

19. Do you consider yourself to be a genius in any field?
Life. I know everything about it and its meaning. I’m just that awesome.

20. A hobby you have that not everyone knows:
Lockpicking. If I wasn’t incredibly honest, this might be a bad thing. I’m also incredibly adept at READING PEOPLES MINDS!!! But that’s a lie.

21. The ideal age of a person is:
Uh, a person for me? Or just the ideal age of people in general? For the former, I’d say about my age or a little younger. For the latter, anywhere from 5 to 8 years old. They’re so much fun!

22. Your room is...
Clean. Comfortable. A local hotspot of activity among my friends. My office. My library. My arcade. In other words, utter perfection. Beat THAT! Hah.

23. Describe your mood, now, in one word:
That blessed blend of excited, happy, giddy, and talkative. I’m quite content right now. All this writing (I’m actually writing this tag part last) is making me quite happy. LOVE.

24. What do you think of fangirls?
I want to kill them. They are the number one reason that so many of my favorite characters get butchered in stories, simply because they are a political FORCE in the world of anime and manga in Japan. Their squealing antics are the bane of my existence, and the yaoi and yuri born from their sick, twisted minds is a source of constant revulsion to me. I had better move on; this could get ugly if it continues. ARGH!!

25. Your favorite word/phrase:
You lose. / I win.

26. Your ideal place to be...
I think the description of my room is a pretty good indicator of my favorite place to be. I like it better when we’ve got a bunch of friends over to play Guilty Gear, Smash Bros. Brawl, Fluxx, or Apples to Apples. We also like talking about anime and manga, considering how most of the manga I own is only owned by me among our friends.

27. What is your favorite reality TV show?
Ugh. No. Moving on now.

28. Something you have always hated with a fiery passion:
Fangirls.

I make no apologies for my actions! You can’t handle all the WORDS! All puns, jokes, idiotic statements, opinions, and number of words are all intentional. Bravo if you actually read all that. I thank you.

On to the next bit of business. I think I may have to use stars to rate this stuff. I do love writing long reviews, though.

Manga

Black Cat – This one would probably be considered an older one. Especially since it’s completed. But that hasn’t stopped me from loving it anyway. This one has some really admirable characters who don’t fall into a lot of the typical cliché stupidities that plague a lot of other stories. For example, the girls don’t just sit and stare as bad stuff approaches them, young girls aren’t crybabies, etc. While at the same time, they are seriously confronted with difficult situations that are always confronted in an intelligent and human manner. There are no “gods” here, nor are there characters that force you to scream “IDIOT” at, when they stumble at situations that could be seen though a mile away. It’s subtle things like this that have kept me reading Black Cat, along with a cast of truly enjoyable characters that never fail to make you smile. The main character, Train, is a typical free-roaming “sweeper”, or bounty hunter, along with his ex-cop partner Sven (who often has to keep Train in line, as well as make sure he doesn’t just let bounties go). Throw in a sexy thief-for-hire, Rinslet, and a girl that can change her shape at will, and you’ve got yourself a guaranteed good time. Did I mention that nobody sucks? Not even the bad guys. And bad guys they certainly can be. A man that can shape his blood as he sees fit, a girl who can raise her body temperature to 1000 degrees (she has a kissing fetish, too), a masked man that can create puppet bees that can inject mind controlling venom, and Train’s ex-partner Creed, with a rather “special” sword contain the main antagonist force. Even these guys maintain strong personal beliefs that make them very human, almost to the point of being admirable. Almost. And some more than others. There are a lot of characters here, and what’s most incredible is that they all get a decent amount of screen time that helps you become attached to them. It’s very difficult to hate these bad guys (except Creed. He’s a bitch). This is one of the mangas that I’m actually purchasing, and I just finished it not too long ago. That’s a sign.

Mahoraba – This one is hard for me to explain. So here goes nothing. The main character, Shiratori, moves into an apartment to help ease commuting to school. He moves into the apartment owned by his second cousin, Kozue. She’s a very nice, welcoming girl who remembers Shiratori very well. Shiratori doesn’t remember much about her. That’s the usual stuff. What’s not usual is the quality of the characters that live at the apartment. An incredibly hyperactive woman in her early 20’s named Momono, who has an avid love of alcohol and parties. There’s Kotomi, who is in the same class as Kozue, and she’s just full of surprises (the scary kind) and not afraid of blackmail if it gets her what she wants. Then there’s Sayoko, who often tries to kill herself out of depression, yet has such horrible luck that she can’t ever manage it. Her daughter, Asami, is the perfect opposite, never letting anything get in the way of her being positive. Finally, we have Haibara, who won’t speak a word except through his hand puppet Johnny. Those are the actual guests. What sets this apart from some of the usual fare is that Kozue has MPD, or multiple personality disorder, and it manifests itself whenever Kozue receives a mental shock. Complete with the active Saki, the quiet Natsumi, the curious child Nanako, and the clothing and cosplay freak Chiyuri, Kozue can be quite a handful sometimes. This manga is purely character development, and if you have a serious thirst for action and intensity, don’t even bother with this one. But if you’re like me and like a well-told story revolving around some seriously interesting and endearing characters, give this a look. Just be sure to give it some time if you do read it. It takes a bit to get off the ground, but when it does, I couldn’t stop smiling. Very good read.

Anime

Nothing new in this area. At least, nothing that’s ready to be reviewed. However…

Clannad – It’s OVER!!! It’s kinda sad that it’s finally finished. And at 22 episodes, no less! Technically there’s a 23 extra episode that goes up next week, and I’m in the process of downloading the movie (I didn’t know they had one; I just randomly found it). This series ended wonderfully, and I can proudly say that I watched this one the whole way though. It was a wonderfully told story that had an equally good ending that gets full marks. I adore this series now.

EDIT: I just recently watched the Clannad movie. I have to say that it is about 1000 times more heartbreaking than the anime. The anime at least ends on a wonderfully happy note. The movie, on the other hand, is much more tragic. If you don't want to cry (like I almost did), don't watch it. I don't think I'm going to watch it again simply because I don't like tragic stories. I will say that it was a phenomenally well-told story that had emotion in all the proper places and pulled off what it wanted to do with unbelievable perfection. This is a wonderful movie, packed with realism and endearing characters. It's just way too sad for me.

Oh, yes. YAES. I have broken 5000 pageviews. Clearly my stupidity is loved around here. Not that I have anything special really. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you.
